The Great Pumpkin Shootout (GPS) is our way of bringing together the expanding Upper Midwest association-level lacrosse community to celebrate fall and wrap up the Great Northern Lacrosse League (GNLL) Fall Field Season. Since its inception in 2012, the event has grown to include over 130 teams per tournament and 3,000 participants each year.

⚠️ Please note: The Great Pumpkin Shootout is now exclusively for association-level teams. The club/travel team version of this fall tournament is now called the Shadowlands Shootout, a separate event created to better serve the growing club/travel landscape. 

Dates: Friday-Sunday, October 9-11, 2026:
Location:  Shakopee HS, Saber Fields & West Middle School
Divisions: Boys/Girls Varsity, JV, 14U, 12U, 10U, 8U  

Participation Fee: 
Boys: $1175* HS - 12U teams | 10U $650 | 8U $350 
Girls: $850* HS - 12U teams | 10U $650 | 8U $350 
*Discount available for HS - 12U teams who played in the GNLL Fall League Season: $150 for boys' teams & $75 for girls' teams.

Boys Format: 4-game guarantee. 20-minute halves. Pool play with advancement to championship brackets. 
Girls Format: 6v6 on 60x40 yard fields.  4-game guarantee. 20-minute running time halves. 10U Girls may play 8v8 if both coaches agree to it. 

The following will be provided for the event:  
    •    Certified Officials
    •    Certified EMT's equipped with AED's 
    •    Professional Site Managers / Scorekeepers
    •    Online standings, schedules, and updates 

Eligibility: The Tournament follows USA Lacrosse age & eligibility guidelines according to the 2025-2026 school year. USAL membership is required for all players and coaches who must be registered prior to the start of the tournament. Click here for a detailed break-down of additional rules and requirements. 

Team Registration Deadline: Friday, September 12, 2025

*Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registrations received after the deadline (9/12/25) are not guaranteed and will incur a $100 late fee if added. 

A $250 deposit is required for each team registered. Deposits are non-refundable and due at the time of registration. Teams are not considered fully registered until deposit payments are received. The remaining balance is due no later than Monday, September 29, 2025.  

Homegrown Lacrosse is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Team fees cover facility, officials, EMT, field staff, equipment and league administration costs. Additional proceeds and sponsorships sustain, expand and develop service-based initiatives throughout the region.
