College: Colorado College
Daniel grew up in Southwest Minneapolis and attended Colorado College. He currently resides in the Kingfield neighborhood in Minneapolis. Daniel is highly involved with Homegrown Lacrosse's inner-city development programs and is an avid supporter of Homegrown's mission to reach urban youth.
Daniel loves lacrosse because "It was the first sport that I was able to stand out in. Plus it helped me develop self-confidence and a 'healthy' ego."
Daniel enjoys teaching character, self-confidence, accountability and work ethic. He says, "As a coach you can catch a rare moment where something in the kid clicks. The click is a connection to lacrosse and the self-realization of 'Hey I love this and I'm actually good at this!'"
Daniel, although a little biased, thinks Homegrown is awesome because of the opportunities it provides to youth players and the sense of commmunity it instills in all its participants.
Tidbits: Daniel loves green chili from a little diner in Colorado Springs that he frequently visited when he was in college. He hopes to one day travel to Kodaikanal, India, which he says reminds him a lot of Hogwarts from Harry Potter. His must-have gadget is his trusty Nikon D60.
