The Great Northern Lacrosse (GNLL) Boys Youth Pre-Season Box League (March - April) provides a fun, safe and supportive environment where area youth teams compete, learn and grow.
Participating teams play 6 regular season games throughout March & April at conveniently located regional indoor arenas. Games run hourly on Saturdays & Sundays and consist of three 15-minute periods.
The league provides the following for each game:
• Certified UMLOA officials
• Certified EMT's equipped with AED's
• Professional Site Managers / Scorekeepers
• Mobile-responsive schedules, statistics, and standings.
Regular Season: Saturday & Sundays, March 16, 2019 - April 20, 2019. *Off on 4/21 for Easter. Games run between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
- Northeast: Northeast Ice Arena (MPLS)
- Southeast: Eagan Civic Arena/Hayes Ice Arena (Apple Valley)
- Northwest: Anoka Ice Arena
- Southwest: Hopkins Pavilion / St. Louis Park ROC
Divisions: 14U / 12U / 10U *A / B levels will be offered if demand allows. Historically, associations have opted to run even-teams instead of A / B.
Rules: Minnesota Youth Lacrosse Rules with GNLL Youth Box Rules Variations
Note: GNLL Youth Box Lacrosse is field lacrosse modified to be played in an arena setting and not true box lacrosse. In particular, cross-checking, off-ball checking, and boarding are illegal.

Regular Season Participation Fee: $1250 per team
The GNLL Pre-Season Box League is followed by the Spring Field League (April - June) and the Fall Field Season (September - October). *The GNLL Spring Box Season games may overlap with GNLL Spring Field Season games scheduled in early April.

Director of Leagues and Events
Team registration deadline is Friday, February 15, 2019
Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Registrations received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be scheduled and will incur a $100 late fee per team.
A $500 deposit is required for each team registered. Deposits are non-refundable and due at the time of registration. Teams are not considered fully registered until deposit payments are received. The remaining balance is due no later than Friday, March 1, 2019.
Homegrown Lacrosse is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Team fees cover facility, officials, EMT, field staff, equipment and league administration costs. Additional proceeds and sponsorships sustain, expand and develop service-based initiatives throughout the region.
