Corbyn Tao

Corbyn Tao has had an exciting lacrosse playing career. He began his journey in Coquitlam, B.C., his hometown, before transitioning to Hudson, Ohio. There, he excelled as a player for Western Reserve Academy during his high school years. His commitment and skills earned him a spot on the Division 1 team at Robert Morris University, where he not only competed but also started all four years. After college, Corbyn was drafted by the Minnesota Swarm, reflecting recognition of his talents. Throughout his high school, collegiate, and professional years, he maintained his focus and passion for the sport by playing box lacrosse with teams like the Coquitlam Adanacs, Six Nations Arrows, and New Westminster Salmonbellies. While he continues to play recreationally, his primary focus has shifted to coaching.

Since 2016, Corbyn has served as the Varsity head coach for Breck High School. He has also coached Team MN's 2016 and 2020 teams and is currently leading Team MN's box high school teams. His most recent coaching opportunity was with Team Hong Kong in the 2023 World Championships, where they finished 13th.

Passionate about teaching youth and giving back to the community, Corbyn's drive comes from his childhood role models, coaches, and other figures in the lacrosse community. If it weren't for them, his opportunities, friendships, and experiences might have been different. Coaching provides Corbyn the chance to open those same doors for others and to express gratitude to those who have guided him along his journey.

Outside of coaching and playing lacrosse, Corbyn enjoys staying active, whether it's running marathons, playing pickleball, working out, or participating in ice and pond hockey. Open to trying anything new and active, he maintains a competitive spirit in all he does.
