Chris (aka Fun Donny) grew up in Edina and never left, except to attend Gustavus Adolphis College. Chris is the Head Coach at Hopkins High School.
When asked what he feels is special about lacrosse, Fun Donny enthusiastically answers, “I’ve played almost every sport known to man, and nothing compares to the sport of lacrosse.”
One of the things he loves the most about lacrosse are the friendships he has developed. The fun and sense of belonging he's experienced while being involved in lacrosse were instrumental in his decision to be a coach with Homegrown. One of his greatest pleasures is to share his love and enthusiasm for lacrosse with others, particularly youth.
When out on the field with his players, Chris has a passion for passing drills, and enjoys developing talent through drills like the three-man weave.
Chris's involvement with Homegrown stems from his belief that there is nothing the program won't do to develop young men into stewards of their communities, as well as into young men of integrity.
Tidbits: Chris enjoys a great steak at Manny’s Steakhouse, and relies on his iPhone for just about everything. His dream travel destination is Indonesia.
