Kara Vier

Women's Lacrosse Director

Hometown: Hastings (H-Town), Minn.

College: University of Minnesota Twin Cities, California State University-Monterey Bay, University of Wisconsin-River Falls

Position: Center/Middie

Kara grew up in Hastings and attended college at University of MN-Twin Cities, California State University-Monterey Bay and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. At the University of Wisconsin-River Falls she was named the Offensive Player of the Year as well as the 2006 and 2007 Most Valuable Player.

Lacrosse is special to Kara because it combines all of her past sporting experiences into one activity and it just felt right the first time she picked up a stick. The feeling she received the first time she picked up a lacrosse stick has yet to wear off.

Coaching holds a special place in Kara’s heart because she loves the challenge of growing the game and getting to know the unique personalities of players. Kara also enjoys the strategic thinking that goes into planning out the season and the split-second decisions made on the field. Kara sees lacrosse as a metaphor for life; everyone plays different positions, has different goals and unique talents.

Homegrown Lacrosse can be described in three words: Dedicated, Passionate and Opportunistic.

Tidbits: Kara loves strawberries and she recently discovered her new favorite restaurant, St. Clair Broiler. She can’t live without her iPhone or her Macbook… but she also wants an iPad badly.
