Women's Winter League

Homegrown Lacrosse's Womens Winter Lakes League is designed to offer collegiate and post-collegiate lacrosse players and clubs a fun, safe, well-organized and competitive environment where they can develop their game as well as connect with the Minnesota Lacrosse Community at-large.

Many local colleges and universities enter a team, primarily composed of their regular season squad, so that the team can continue growing as one unit.  Additionally, local women's players and coaches compete in the Winter Lakes League. 

The league is open to women who are 18 years of age or older.  All players must be have current US Lacrosse memberships. All teams must have a minimum of 10 players.

Saturdays in St. Paul - Concordia Seafoam Dome

5 Sessions - November 19 to December 17

  • Start Time: 9:45 AM - team check-in, stick check, warm-ups
  • Game Times: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Dates: November 19, 26; December 3, 10, 17
  • Cost: $60 per on-field player, $20 per goalie
  • Open Division: Ages 18-70, 6 teams, 10-14 players per team

League Details

- Great indoor location in St. Paul and times Saturday Mornings

- Certified officials, on- site EMT's and field attendants

- Game balls and water provided at every game

Game Format:

15 minute pre-game warm up and stick check. Two 25-minute running time halves. 3 minute half-time break, 1 time-out per-game. 5 games, 7 on  7 format. Braveheart (full-field 1 v. 1) will decide a tie.

Additional Rules:

  • Equipment necessary: Mouthguards & goggles must be worn at all times, tennis shoes and/or cleats, girls lacrosse stick
  • All players must have a current US Lacrosse Membership in order to participate. Information about how to obtain a US Lacrosse Membership number can be found at www.uslacrosse.org
  • All players must agree to the HGL Code of Conduct.  
  • Goalies must wear a chest protector and a neck protector

Individual - Free Agents

Individuals can register as a free agent if they are not currently associated with a team. If a player is selected as a free agent, he will be notified via email. From there, free agents will be asked complete their registration by paying the remaining league fee.  

Team Registration

Create your own team registration format (play with your friends) or register with your college team. Team registstrations can enter with the registration of 2 captains. Once these registrations are received captains will be called to discuss their roster.

Captains will be sent instructions via email on the process for player registration and will be granted access to the league's registration site to monitor team registration. The remainder of a team's roster must register by November 5 to maintain space in the league. At that time, if a team's roster (14) is not complete, free agents will be automatically added to the teams or full teams on the waiting list will be given your spot.
