Bullying Policy

Homegrown Lacrosse is dedicated to maintaining a positive, safe, inclusive and welcoming environment at all of our camps, programs, and events.

Beyond improving lacrosse skills, we strive to build confidence, character and a sense of community among all of our participants. We hope to help all of our participants in not only experiencing the importance of relationship building, but in sharing the passion of the game with their peers.

To support the growth of each participant, Homegrown Lacrosse operates under a strict no bullying policy – any acts of harassment or bullying WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

We define harassment, intimidation or bullying as any form of: slurs, rumors, jokes, innuendos, demeaning comments, illustrations, pranks, gestures, physical attacks, threats, or other written, oral or physical actions. Intentional acts refer to a particular individuals choice to partake in the action, not exclusively the impact of the action.

Any acts of bullying reported to or observed by Homegrown Lacrosse staff will be dealt with immediately. When appropriate, corrective discipline and productive discussion will be used to amend the behavior of the offender as well as decrease the impact on the victim. Guardians of both the offender and the victim will be notified immediately of the incident and the actions taken by the Homegrown Lacrosse’s staff at the time of the incident.

Depending on the severity and impact of the action, it is at the discretion of Homegrown Lacrosse’s Executive Director if the offender will be removed from the activity or expelled from the program or future programs. Participants expelled from the program forfeit their registration fee.

Reporting Bullying
We encourage program participants and parents to report any acts of bullying as soon as possible to the Homegrown Lacrosse staff so that corrective action can be taken immediately. Anyone can report an act of bullying informally by notifying any of the Homegrown Lacrosse staff at 612.823.3919 or info@homegrownlacrosse.org.

Each report will be taken seriously and anonymity will be honored.
