Fall Back2Lax

Started in 2008, Homegrown Lacrosse's Back2Lax Fall Ball brings players from across the Twin Cities together for a unique seven week program. In 2010, more than 40 lacrosse programs were represented.

Held on Sundays (September - October) at McMurray Fields in St. Paul, Minn, the program is designed to meet the specific developmental needs of youth, middle school and high school players. Each age group is provided with opportunities to build confidence, strengthen their skills and develop on-field I.Q.

High School Program Structure

Teamwork & Community. At the first session players are assigned to one of six teams which they will remain on the length of the program.  Each team is set up to provide evenly balanced competition, compatible coach / player relationships as well as connect players from different communities and coaches with new 

Strength & Goal Setting. All sessions begin with a 15 minute dynamic warm-up which work on flexibility, focus & mental preparation, coordination and sprint mechanics. All warm-ups and speed work stations are run by certified strength and conditioning coaches. 

Knowledge. After warm-ups players work through 45 minute progressive positional skill clinics. Each week new concepts are demonstrated and practiced via high repetition drills. Players are challenged to put these skills into use during game-time as well as set goals for their weekly development. 

Fun. After warm-ups and skills development, players compete with their assigned teams in full-field 25-minute running half round robin games (sessions 2–4) as well as two final play-off games (session 5-6). 

Youth & Middle School Program Structure

Mentorship. Players are assigned to training groups (6 to 8 players) and a Leadership Development Program Counselor (LDP). LDP Counselor's are volunteer high school lacrosse players from all over the metro who serve as "big brothers" and work along side their players during each week's set of skill clinics.

Fun.  After warm-ups and skills development players get to put their newly acquired skills to the test in tournament style short-field games (7 v. 7, Continuous 3 v. 2, 6 v. 6 etc.)
