Homegrown Lacrosse co-founder Aron Lipkin shares how some of the memorable (and not so memorable) games that are the highlight of many Homegrown programs were created and his "unconvential approach" to coaching lacrosse.
At Homegrown Lacrosse, coaching isn't about the final score, it's about improving the individual player. But more than that, our underlying goal is to develop each player not only as a lacrosse player, but as a person. Coaches connect with players in meaningful ways that make a lasting impact.
This year's High School and Middle School and Youth Winter River League (running Nov.-Dec.) has expanded to include H.S. girls action. We've also expanded capacity with new league locations in Maple Grove and Minnetonka.
Homegrown Lacrosse's Leadership Development Program (L.D.P.) provides high school volunteers an opportunity to work and coach alongside staff at youth and middle school programs. Through this program LDPs gain confidence in their teaching ability as well as develops a better understanding of lacrosse in the context of their own game.
Homegrown's Relax Your Stick Program offers an opportunity for players and parents to donate used equipment to be refurbished and given to an inner-city program participant. While it sounds simple, we've found giving a lacrosse stick to a youth sparks a passion for the game that can change lives. To find out how you or your team/association can particpate in the ReLax program contact Aron Lipkin.
Homegrown Lacrosse’s River Cup Youth Tournament (June 18-19, 2011) will draw an estimated 1,400 players, parents and spectators to the Eastview High School campus in Apple Valley — the majority of which will attend both days of the event.
Beyond the tournament, sponsorship of the River Cup Youth Tournament will put your business in front of the larger lacrosse community with recognition on Homegrown Lacrosse’s website and event merchandise.
