Community Leadership Award

Guided by our core values of character, confidence and community, Homegrown Lacrosse uses the sport to provide opportunities for individuals to get involved and cultivate the skills and relationships necessary to succeed on and off the field.

We believe that being a great lacrosse player requires more than skill on the field; it also requires strength of character, compassion, knowledge and a desire to make a difference in their community. As the sport of lacrosse continues throughout Minnesota, so do the instances of exemplary character from coaches and players.

As a community, it is important to recognize the acts that make our sport unique. Not only must outstanding performances on the field be recognized, but displays of genuine admiration of the community must be acknowledged as well.

In support of these ideals, the Homegrown Lacrosse Community Leadership Award was created in 2010.

The Homegrown Lacrosse Community Leadership Award recognizes two graduating Minnesota high school lacrosse players (one girl and one boy) who exemplify the qualities of character, confidence and community. The award showcases a player's exceptional concern for the community as a whole. (Community Leadership Award recipients)

Recipients will be awarded $500 scholarships for use towards their freshman year tuition.

Applications will be judged by Homegrown Lacrosse senior staff and members of the organization’s board of directors
