Chaun grew up in Hastings and now lives in St. Louis Park. He graduated from St. Cloud State University where he earned a B.A. in International Relations. While he was a student there, Chaun played both defense and long-stick middie.
Chaun is currently the head coach at his alma mater, SCSU, and finds it very rewarding to coach there. He is also the defensive coordinator at Champlin Park High School.
"I love working in Champlin Park because my very first coaching job was at the 7/8th grade level here. It's amazing to see how far lacrosse has come in this community," he says.
Chaun is thankful for the fun he's had and the many friendships he's made because of lacrosse. "I really don't think you can have a bad day if it's a day you've been playing lacrosse," he quips.
Like other great coaches, he enjoys seeing players improve their skills. "It's the most rewarding aspect of coaching." His favorite drill is 1-on-1 because of the simplicity of offense versus defense and the many opportunities for skill development.
Tidbits: Chaun enjoys sushi and would be lost without his cell phone. He would love to go back to Spain and visit Greece.
