High School Winter Lakes League

Homegrown Lacrosse's High School Winter League is designed to give regular season high school teams the opportunity to continue playing together in the off-season, in a fun, safe, and productive environment. 


Divisions

The goal of the league is to provide every player with an opportunity to compete against players with a skill level similar to their own. 

Varsity Division
The Varsity Division is intended for players who have Junior Varsity and Varsity experience. 
*Eligibility: 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016 graduates. 

Varsity Prep Division
The Prep Division is intended for players have 9/10 (B-Squad) and Junior Varsity experience. 
**Eligibility: 2014, 2015 & 2016 graduates. 

Cost
The total fee is $3,250 per team for most divisions, $2750 for the Central Saturday Division and Travel Team Division. A $1500 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve space in the league. Remaining balance is due prior to season start. 


2013 Dates and Availability

Dates: 8 to 10-week season, games start the weekend of January 5 through to March 16 (schedules vary by site). 

Availability: Is limited at each location. Teams are assigned to preferred locations on a first come first, serve basis.

South Saturday Division - 10 Varsity Teams - 10 Week Sesaon
- Rosemount Dome - Saturdays 7:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
* off on March 2. Final session March 16. 

Central / East Saturday Division - 10 Varsity Teams - 8 Week Season
- Concordia University - Saturdays 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 
* off on Jan 26 and Feb 2. 

Northwest Saturday Division - 10 Varsity Teams - 10 Week Season
- Maple Grove Dome - Saturdays 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

Southwest Sunday Division - 10 Varsity & 6 Prep Teams - 10 Week Season
- Savage Dome - Sundays 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Central / Northeast Sunday Division 10 Varsity Teams - 10 Week Season
- Vadnais Heights Dome - Sundays 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
- Augsburg College Dome - Sundays 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.


Enter Your Team

  1. Gain interest from your players. 
  2. Complete the Team Administrator Online Registration form here
  3. Mail in the team's $1,500 deposit.
  4. Your team's space in the league is not reserved until both items (3) and (4) have been completed. 
  5. Once the registration materials are received, you will be sent instructions on how your players can register with Homegrown. 
  6. Individual players will register (no additional charge) with Homegrown Lacrosse for informational purposes and to sign Homegrown Lacrosse's Waiver and Liability Release Form. 
  7. Monitor your roster and who is registering for your team via Homegrown Lacrosse's registration system. 
  8. The regular season schedule will be posted to www.homegrownlacrosse.org in late December. 
  9. The remaining balance of $1750 is due on or before your team's first game ($1250 for Central Saturday Division). 

League Format & League Rules

Game Format

  • Four 12-minute running time quarters
  • 1 timeout per game
  • Penalties are time and a half
  • No warm-up time
  • Games start promptly at their scheduled times
  • If a goalie receives a time serving penalty, that team's "in-home" player will serve the penalty

League Format

  • Each team will play ten games total made up of seven to eight game regular season followed by one or two weeks of playoffs *varies slightly by site. 
  • Playoff seedings will be created via goal differential when teams in the same division have not played all opponents. 

League Rules

  • Homegrown Lacrosse reserves the right to discipline players and coaches who are deemed to be behaving in an unsportsmanlike or inappropriate manner which includes and is not limited to temporary or permanent suspension from the league
  • All players must sign Homegrown Lacrosse's Waiver and Liability Release Form
  • All players must be current US Lacrosse Members
  • All coaches must be current US Lacrosse Members
  • All coaches must sign Homegrown Lacrosse's Coaches Waiver and Liability Release Form
  • Players must wear full equipment at all times (Helmet, Gloves, Arm Pads, Shoulder Pads, Mouthguard, Athletic Shoes, *Protective cups are are strongly encouraged)
  • Goalies must wear a chest protector and a neck protector at all times
  • Games that are terminated due to inclement weather are not guaranteed to be re-scheduled
  • Games that are terminated with more than half of the time played will be considered complete
  • Games that are terminated with more than half of the time remaining will not count towards league standing
