Skills & Speed Training Program


Homegrown's Skills and Speed Training Program is designed to help players build their lacrosse skill and IQ as well as develop strength, speed and efficiency as an athlete. The program curriculum focuses on:

  • Team concepts & Lacrosse IQ
    • Transition play
    • Settled offense & defense
    • Man-up & Man-down
  • Position specific skills & concepts
    • Offense - shooting mechanics, dodging & offensive systems
    • Defense - footwork, stick positioning & team defense
    • Goalie - footwork, save mechanics & clearing skills
  • Explosive strength to develop a powerful athlete
  • Speed development & first step quickness
  • Change of direction for better dodges & lockdown defense
  • Lacrosse specific conditioning to stay fast in the 4th quarter
  • Rotational strength for a harder shot & longer llears
  • Flexibility & injury prevention to stay in the game


Dates, Times and Locations

Location / Session Options:

  • Providence Academy Dome, Plymouth: Mondays & Wednesdays
    • Session One: Jan. 4 - Feb. 10
  • Vadnais Heights Sports Center: Tuesdays & Thursdays
    • Session One: Jan. 5 - Feb. 4
    • Session Two: Feb. 9 - Mar. 10

Times: 4:15 PM - 6:00 PM

Age Divisions / Eligibility: Boys in grades 8 - 12 (u15 & u18)

*Players register for one location
**Players can register for one or both sessions


Program Fees: 

  • $230 per player per session (less than $14 per program hr.)
  • $415 per player for both sessions (less than $12 per program hr.)

Scholarships are available to those in need.
