11/19/07: 08’ Winter Program Set For Rosemount Dome
Registration is now open for all of our ’08 Winter Programs. Programs include a 3- Day Boy’s and Girls Holiday Camp (Rosemount, Jan 2-4th), an 11 week pre-season training program (Rosemount Dec-March), Pre-Season Collegiate Training Program, as well as our Leadership Development Programs which will take place during our youth Holiday Camp in Rosemount. We are extremely excited about seeing all of you out on the field this winter. Please use the programs link for more info on each program. 11/14/07: HG Director Attends Swarm Training Camp
Our very own Colin Achenbach is trying-out for the Minnesota Swarm. Colin played indoor lacrosse for the NY Titans last year and is now looking to become Minnesota’s first native pro. 11/2/07: New Homegrown Store to Support Scholarship Fund
Please check out our newly updated store page where you will find the first of many new Homegrown branded products. All proceeds from store sales will benefit our scholarship fund which helps provide financial assistance to our campers. Also be sure to support local retailers carrying our products.

11/1/07 U of M Men’s Team Sponsors P.E. Program
The University of Minnesota Men’s Lacrosse club has been gracious enough to sponsor two classes at nearby Edison High School. Thanks to their donations our staff will be able to introduce lacrosse to over 80 students.

10/24/07: Lacrosse Education In MPLS Gym Classes
The Homegrown staff recently completed two of five weeklong P.E. lacrosse units to be offered throughout MPLS public high schools in ’07 and ‘08. Homegrown staffers, Heather Brick, Daniel & Aron Lipkin and Colin Achenbach directed the units at South High School and will run three more units at nearby Southwest, Roosevelt and Edison High schools in early 2008. The program will introduce lacrosse to over 1,000 local students throughout 5 weeks of programs. "Our goal is to raise the diversity level our lacrosse community and encourage after-school sport participation. After the first two weeks I feel that we are doing so." Welcome Our New Girls Director: Heather Brick

Homegrown is very happy to welcome former University of Minnesota all-league defender Heather Brick as our new girl’s program director. Heather, a Bloomington native, comes to Homegrown with a very respectable lacrosse resume. "Heather brings a lot of passion and knowledge to girls she works with, she is a go-getter who really enjoys what she does. I am very thankful to have her working with us." TSS Photography Sponsors Homegrown

The Homegrown staff would like to acknowledge the Leach family and TSS Photography for their work at our youth camp last week. The Leach’s were kind enough to come out for a day of camp and take photographs. They also provided all of our campers with a camp photo and custom photo books. Homegrown would also like to thank the Minneapolis Park Board and RETC for their support this year.

Homegrown Boys Youth Camp

We are very happy to announce that our Homegrown Youth Camp will run as originally scheduled. Camp was cancelled last week due to low registrations. Fortunately, we have received enough registrations in the last week to keep camp going. All parents who received cancellation notices will receive a camp confirmation call and email. Homegrown Introduces H.S Leadership Development Program

Our newly formed leadership program will offer 20 high school juniors and seniors a unique opportunity to develop their leadership and coaching skills by working along side our senior staff members at our youth camps this summer. Our hope is that the program will add a new energy to our camps and help strengthen the Minnesota lacrosse community for future generations. Homegrown Staffer Goes Pro

Our very own Colin Achenbach has made it to the big leagues. The Philadelphia Barrage drafted Colin this past spring and after a tough training camp awarded him a spot on the roster. The Barrage will hope to use him at both midfield and attack in their hunt for their second MLL championship. Campers need not worry, Colin will be making time to fly home for the Homegrown Youth Camp July 12th – 16th. Till then we want to congratulate him for all of his achievements.
