The Great Northern Lacrosse League (GNLL) Boys Youth Spring Box Season (March - April) provides a fun, safe and supportive environment where area youth teams compete, learn and grow.
Participating teams play 6 games at conveniently located regional indoor arenas. Games run hourly on Saturdays & Sundays between 9:00 a.m. at 6:00 p.m.
The league provides the following for each game:
• Certified UMLOA officials
• Certified EMT's equipped with AED's
• Professional Site Managers / Scorekeepers
• Online team statistics, standings, schedules and updates
• Loaner indoor-specific goalie gear
Age Levels: 14U, 12U, 10U.
Divisions: A / B levels will be offered if demand allows. Historically, associations have opted to run even-teams instead of A / B.
Eligibility: The league follows US Lacrosse indoor guidelines. USL membership is required for all players and coaches. Click here for a detailed break-down of league structure, rules and requirements.
Athlete Age Division Waiver Request Form: Waiver Form - please use this form to request a waiver for an athlete to play outside of their assigned US Lacrosse division, or for 8th graders with a late birthday.
Regular Season: March 18 - April 23, 2017, Games run on Saturdays & Sundays (6 weekends in total) between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Team Registration: November 1 - February 20, 2017.
February 24, 2017 - First competition schedule draft released
*Associations who are not paid in full, will not be scheduled
February 26, 2017 - Revision requests are due
March 3, 2017 - Final competition schedule released
Teams may request to take spring-break weekends off and have double-headers scheduled in their place.
The GNLL Spring Box Season games may overlap with GNLL Spring Field Season games scheduled in early April (April - June).
*We will also continue to use STMA and Shoreview Arena's if we can get turf installed there.
Regular Season Team Fee: $1200
*A $250 deposit required for each team registered. Deposits are non-refundable to months prior to the league start date and due at the time of registration. Remaining balances are due March 1, 2017.
Leagues and events often fill to capacity. Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first serve basis. Teams are not considered fully registered until deposit payments are received.
The Great Northern Lacrosse League is a subsidiary of Homegrown Lacrosse which is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Team fees cover facility, officials, EMT, field staff, equipment and league administration costs. Additional proceeds and sponsorships sustain, expand and develop service based initiatives throughout the region.
