The Great Northern Lacrosse League (GNLL) Boys Youth Spring Box Season (March - April) provides a fun, safe and supportive environment where area youth teams compete, learn and grow.
Participating teams play 6 games at conveniently located regional indoor arenas. Games run hourly on Saturdays & Sundays between 9:00 a.m. at 6:00 p.m.
The league provides the following for each game:
• Certified UMLOA officials
• Certified EMT's equipped with AED's
• Professional Site Managers / Scorekeepers
• Online team statistics, standings, schedules and updates
• Loaner indoor-specific goalie gear
Age Levels: 14U, 12U, 10U.
Divisions: A / B levels will be offered if demand allows. Historically, associations have opted to run even-teams instead of A / B.
Eligibility: The league follows US Lacrosse indoor guidelines. USL membership is required for all players and coaches. Click here for a detailed break-down of league structure, rules and requirements.
Team Sign Ups: November 1 - January 31, 2017. *Game schedules are released in mid-February.
Regular Season: March 18 - April 23, 2017. Games run on Saturdays & Sundays (6 weekends in total) between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Teams may request to take spring-break weekends off and have double-headers scheduled in their place.
The GNLL Spring Box Season games may overlap with GNLL Spring Field Season games scheduled in early April (April - June). Most associations avoid scheduling field games until the box season wraps up. Some choose to schedule fields games around their box games which will already be set at the time of the Spring Field Season scheduling meeting.
Summer Field July - August) and Fall Field (September - October) follows.
*We will also continue to use STMA and Shoreview Arena's if we can get turf installed there.
Regular Season Team Fee: $1200
Registration Opens: November 1, 2016
Registration Deadline: January 31, 2017
A $250 deposit required for each team registered. Deposits become non-refundable two-months prior to league start date. Remaining balances are due one-month prior to league start.
Leagues and events often fill to capacity. Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first serve basis. Teams are not considered fully registered until deposit payments are received.
The Great Northern Lacrosse League is a subsidiary of Homegrown Lacrosse which is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization. Team fees cover facility, officials, EMT, field staff, equipment and league administration costs. Additional proceeds and sponsorships sustain, expand and develop service based initiatives throughout the region.
