Great Northern Lacrosse Leagues (GNLL) has absorbed the former MBSLA 9th/10th Grade League. All MBSLA bylaws for the 9th/10th Grade League have been adopted by the GNLL and approved by the MBSLA Executive Board for the 2019 season.

The GNLL Boys 9th/10th Grade Spring League (April - May) provides a fun, safe and supportive environment where youth associations and their teams compete, learn and grow. 

Participating high school teams choose to schedule up to 12 games throughout the league's 6 playable weekends before Memorial Day Weekend. Game schedules are created at an annual schedule meeting held in late February. Each team is required to host one day of games.

The league is concluded with an optional Prep State Tournament that occurs after Memorial Day Weekend.

The league provides the following for all games:  
    •    Certified Officials
    •    Certified EMT's or Athletic Trainers equipped with AED's 
    •    Online team statistics, standings, schedules and updates 

The GNLL 9th/10th Grade Spring League is preceded by Winter Field Season (November - February).

​​​​​​Divisions: A single 9th/10th-grade division. The league must have at least 6 teams registered to continue. 

Eligibility: Open to boys in grades 9 - 10 (Based on 2022-2023 school year). USAL membership is required for all players and coaches. Boys in 8th grade may also participate but need to fill out the Age Waiver Form. 

Spring Regular Season: Saturday April 15 –  Sunday May 21, 2023

No games April 9 for Easter Sunday and May 27-28 for Memorial Day Weekend. 

Teams primarily play on Saturdays or Sundays the 6 weekends before Memorial Day Weekend.

Team Registration Deadline: Friday, March 10, 2023

League Playoffs (Optional, Additional Fee):
Prep State Tournament: Sunday June 4, 2023. McMurray Fields-St. Paul. 
Tournament Fee: $800 

Registration Deadline: Friday, May 12, 2023.

Team Fee: $150 per team
Prep State Tournament is not covered by Team Fee

Game Fee: $98 per team/per game

Fee Breakdown: 
$66 per game for officials and assigning fees 
$15 per game for staff and administration costs
$17 per game for EMT's, assigning & travel fees

Growth Initiative (G.I.) Support *Optional: $3 per team per game
G.I. Teams or Associations commit an additional $3 per game to support ongoing efforts to grow the game within rural, Native and Inner-City communities. 

*A $500 deposit is required for each association registered. Deposits are non-refundable after and due at the time of registration. 

The Great Northern Lacrosse League is a division of Homegrown Lacrosse, a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization.  Additional proceeds and sponsorships sustain, expand and develop service-based initiatives throughout the region. 

Leagues and events often fill to capacity. Registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Teams are not considered fully registered until deposit payments are received. 

Deadline to register is March 12, 2023. A late fee of $100 is applied to all registrations received thereafter.
