2010 East by Midwest Shootout
u15 & u17 Divisions : July 9th -11th, 2010

Tournament Overview:
Known for its 10,000 lakes, beautiful summers, strong athletic communities, and hospitable "nice" people, Minnesota is heating up as a lacrosse recruitment hotbed. With national caliber players like Ryan Hurley, Joe Costello and Homegrown Lacrosse’s co-founder Colin Achenbach, making an impact at top NCAA and MCLA programs, Minnesota is emerging as one of our nations' most competitive new frontiers.

Homegrown Lacrosse’s first annual u15 and u17 East by Midwest Shootout (EXMW) is set to be the epicenter of our communities' growth. Drawing teams from both coasts and around the Midwest, EXMW will showcase great talent, set the stage for top notch competition and provide players with college recruitment opportunities.

Situated in the heart of the Twin Cities and driven by our nonprofit mission to build a community that inspires and empowers players to excel in life and lacrosse, EXMW promises to be unlike any other tournament. Designed with a holistic experience in mind, EXMW programming will go beyond competitive play; coach's, players and families will be offered activities on and off the field such as recruitment & video services, vendor village contests & clinics, a coaches social and all-tourney team awards ceremonies.

All games will be played at Minnesota's most state of the art facilities. Teams will play a minimum of 8 games in just 3 days, making our tournament one of the most affordable in the country. The University of St. Thomas' dorms, practice fields and cafeteria will be available for travel teams which will take the headache out of travel logistics.

More than that, East by Midwest offers an opportunity for players, coaches and families to Explore Minnesota.

Tournament Format:

Thursday 7/8:
- Evening check-in for ravel teams at the University of St. Thomas
- Turf field will be made available for practice / walk-throughs.
- Coaches meet & greet / rules interpretations.
Friday 7/9:
- Teams play 3 games in round-robin pool play. Teams will be seeded based on coaches self rankings.
Saturday 7/10:
- Teams are re-seeded into new pools based on day 1 results and play 3 games in round robin pool play.
Sunday 7/11:
- u17 Teams are split into A and B divisions and play in and play up to 3 games in 8 team tournament brackets. Trophies will be awarded to each divisions 1st and 2nd place teams. 7/8th place games will not be played.
- u15 Teams are split into A and B divisions and play 2 games in a 4 team tournament brackets.
- All-Tournament Team Awards presented.
- Extended overnight option available for teams who need to fly out on Monday morning.
