2010 Boys High School Winter League

Schedule Update 1/30/2010: Our originally scheduled Feb 7th 3 v. 2 Tourney day has been rescheduled due to conflict with the Superbowl. The session will now run on February 20th from 10:00 am to 12:00. Players are encouraged to arrive at 9:30 to gear up. The tournament rules interpretation will begin promtly at 10:00 a.m. Players are also encouraged to stick around to watch the U of M's Jenkins' Invitational which will host UMD, Lindenwood and Central Michigan.

About: Homegrown's Boys H.S. Winter League works to provide a fun, safe and competitive environment where local players can develop alongside their teammates in the off-season. Our goal is to offer the most affordable, well organized league in the state. All proceeds from league dues support Homegrown's service based initiatives.

Game Format: Two 25-minute running time halves. 5 minute half-time break, 1 time-out per-game. No sideline horns. 7 game regular season followed by a 1 night play-off. No over-time. Braveheart (full-field 1 v. 1 to) will decide a tie. For a full list of rules click here.

Play-off Format: Teams will be seeded based on overall record and will compete in a Championship and Consolation bracket during the last two weeks of the league. Head to Head results will determine tiebreakers. Teams with the same record who tied each other in head to head competition will use season goal differential totals to determine final seeding. Records will be reported weekly online.

PLAYER REGISTRAITON
Individual players may only register for teams that have reserved space via our team registration process (Registered teams are listed below). All players under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian agree to the online liability release and waiver form. Registrants will be required to provide a US Lacrosse number, emergency contact information as well as sign an online participation waiver. Make sure to enter the parent as the adult on the account and the player as the child on the account.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Team Cost: $2400 per team.

Team Registration:

Step 1. Reserve a Team Slot: We accept team registrations only. Team coaches or administrators can reserve space by mailing a $800 team deposit to Homegrown Lacrosse, 2204 W 21st St., Minneapolis, MN 55405. Deadline is November 20th. Space will most likely fill up before deadline. Spots will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. Contact Aron Lipkin at 612-823-3919 with any questions.

Step 2. Register Your Players: Once your team deposit is reserved and space is confirmed you will have two options for your players to register. Please consider both and email or call Aron Lipkin to let him know which way you would like to go.

Option 1: Online via Homegrown - (A $60 administrative fee will be added to cover the cost of the registration system fees) Homegrown will set-up a team link for you within our registration system where players can register their contact info and sign waivers electronically. Our registrar will provide you with roster updates per your requests.

Option 2: On your own - Team's who want to handle registration and waiver collection on their own will need to submit a finalized roster form and a waiver for each player.

Step 3. Fee Collection and Final Payment: The remainder of your team fee will be due prior to the start of your first game. All individual player payments should be collected by your team managers.

Player Eligibility: The league is open to boys currently in grades 9, 10, 11 or 12. Once a team's space is reserved all players must register and sign waivers via their team manager or using our new registration system. All teams must have a minimum of 20 players.

All Team Managers will be expected to:
-Pay their team's deposit and remaining balance (Due before each team's first game).
-Ensure that all players sign waivers & fill out emergency contact info via our online registration system.
-Provide a coach or adult supervisor on the sideline at all games *Teams looking to hire a coach can contact the office for references.
-Set and collect their teams dues as well as pay their own coaches
-Ensure their players follow the HG code of conduct and sign waiver forms before playing.
- Provide a valid US Lacrosse Membership #.

We can also help with:
*Team Jerseys & Art work: For an additional $10 to $15 per reversible.
*Coaching: We would be happy to connect you with local coaches and college players willing to coach over the winter.
*
Finding a team to co-op with or free agents to fill in your roster.
